This Australian-bred pear was originally grown in 1896 by Charles Packham, and became so popular that its also known as Packhams Triumph. These bulbous, wide-bottomed pears learn slightly to one side. Their green skin is covered in tiny russet speckles and ripens to a light yellow. These fruit are delicious eaten fresh, as theyre among the sweetest and juiciest of pears. Theyre very versatile and are also ideal for cooking, baking, poaching and canning.
