Alce Nero Organic Chunky Tomato Puree 500g

Alce Nero Organic Tomato Pulp with Basil is made from elongated tomatoes, including Coimbra, Ercole, and other varieties, which are grown on approximately 30 farms in the Po Delta in the provinces of Ferrara and Ravenna. The tomato varieties that we have selected for our range of ready-made purees and sauces features firm, well-structured flesh as well as a sweet and delicate flavour. The tomatoes, which are harvested in July, August, and September at just the right level of ripeness, are processed within eight hours on average in order to preserve all the flavour, aroma, and nutrients. Once theyve been washed and selected, the skin is removed from the tomatoes, after which theyre diced and then passed to the next stage. The basil and tomato concentrate are added afterwards, then the product is brought to a high temperature, bottled and pasteurised to guarantee that it wont perish. The organoleptic qualities of the tomatoes are constantly controlled and checked to ensure the best taste from the field right through to processing.

Method of Conservation
